Learn How To Sing
It is undeniable that all people sing at some points of their lives. It could just be a simple “Happy Birthday” song during a friend’s birthday. Or maybe a few karaoke songs you’ve been forced to go along with.
Though some believe people are born to be a talented singer, singing is more believed to be a skill that can be learned and improved. In fact, singing coaches agree that anyone can learn how to sing. Basically, singing is just another type of speech, which can be perfected by taking singing lessons and practice.
The main secret to singing is a correct breathing coordination. There are also other factors, which affect singing such as the styles and vocal positions used when producing the tone. To be able to sing properly, you must breathe in the proper way while singing with power or resonance and in pitch.
Let me give you a few tips to start off your singing lesson. Since proper breathing is considered to be one of the most important singing techniques, you would first need to learn how to breathe properly. You can practice by inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly.

You should breathe from your diaphragm, which is just below your rib cage. An indication that you’re doing it right is that your shoulders and chest should barely move at all, or not.
You would also need to execute proper posture to fully maximize lung capacity. Try to keep both feet at shoulders’ width, while one is placed slightly forward than the other. It is also advised that the hands are kept on the sides but a bit forward.
You must remember to maintain a relaxed position all throughout, regardless if you’re standing or sitting. Tension damages your vocal tone. Try swaying to the melody; this will keep your body more relaxed while giving your voice that natural sound.
Since singing is considered a form of speech, it is as important to pronounce the words properly as giving them the correct rhythm. When singing vowels, your jaw must be dropped. Singing the vowels is especially important because it is actually the vowel sounds in any note that is sung.
Pitch can also be improved by practicing scales. It also strengthens your singing muscles to give you better control of the notes when singing. Before you start practicing, first identify your range, whether it is a tenor, baritone, soprano, etc. Then you can begin working on major as well as minor scales.
In singing, it is also important to give out a powerful voice. If your voice is not strong enough, it’s either you have under developed singing muscles or are not correctly using your resonators. With constant training, you should be able to develop and make use of them properly.
Always try working with new songs. Sing the whole song for at least five times. You can sing them with and without the vowel sounds. Choose songs that you enjoy singing so you can let the melody guide you and the words just smoothly flow out of your mouth. As long as you enjoy what you’re doing, then just continue on singing.
